I think both Harry and Voldie will die. Like Voldie will posess Harry again or something and Harry will kill himself in order to be rid of Voldie forever. It would be typical of Harry Potter to all stupid and noble and sacrifice himself.

I'm not sure what to make of the title. Deathly is pretty clear and sounds ominous, but the Hallows bit sounds confusings. I first read it as 'hollows' and thought it was some spooky wood, but 'hallow' is a word with religious conotations, meaning essentially holy, but the 'Deathly Holies' makes no sense Only thing that makes sense to me as it involves Halloween somehow - All Hallows Eve - and that was of course the night that James & Lily died and Harry lived. Sounds like there might be a little bit of a Halloween massacre?

recent trademarks filed by a company named Field Fisher Waterhouse. Along with registering Deathly Hallows on December 5th, they also registered two more titles: Heart of Ravenclaw and also Deadly Veil.
It's easy assume that these could possibly be the two other titles Jo was considering for Book 7. However, we believe it's more likely that they registered two other titles in addition to the real one to throw off anyone who could have uncovered these trademarks.

There was an artical in the section of the newspaper for kids, which I don't normally read, because it's kind of stupid, but I skim it for headlines, and saw the Harry Potter title, so I read it.
Anyway, they interviewed a kid about what he thought about the new title, and he thought it had to do with Godric's Hollow, but that's not spelled correctly. Then they interviewed another person, one of the publishers, and she agreed with Pink that it probably had to do with All Hallow's Eve.

I never new james and lilly died on halloween, because it kind of means nothing to me.... but I really like what pink is thinking..... Could be that voldie will die the night he killed himself the first time, or that HArry will die the same night he nearly got killed....?

I've been doing some research on tragic heroes for English Lit & couldn't help but notice the traits strongly reflect Harry.
- Hero must suffer more than he deserves.
Harry doesn't deserve any of this. He was born into it.
- Hero must be noble in nature, but imperfect so that the audience can see themselves in him.
He is noble & brave. He does what is right but he's made enough mistakes to learn from them.
- Hero must see and understand his doom, as well as the fact that his fate was discovered by his own actions.
He knows about the prophecy that has been made, he discovered them on his own after being told not to.
- Hero's story should arouse fear and empathy.
Many people feel sympathy for him. He's an orphan and nearly every person whom he has thought of as a parental figure has been killed. [hopefully the weasleys won't be next.]
- Ideally, the hero should be a king or leader of men, so that his people experience his fall with him.
He is a leader of Dumbledores Army and most wizards look up to him as a Hero. He is the only one apart from dumbledore who has faced voldemort and lived.
- The hero must be intelligent so he may learn from his mistakes.
He is an A grade student, and like I've said he has made enough mistakes to learn from them. & last but not least
- Hero must be physically or spiritually wounded by his experiences, often resulting in his death
This is the point i don't like. Mainly cause of the death thing.
But if this is correct and he truly is a tragic hero then that means he dies. But if he does have to die i hope its from some sort of fatal injury, not so that he suffers but so that he can tell people how much they mean to him and how much they've helped him survive and all soppy stuffs like that. But he has to live after he's killed Voldemort. Otherwise it's not much of ending to me.
I think that sirius is also a tragic hero; but he's already dead.
=[
How depressing is it to think that this is the last book. Ever.

Wow. Nice research, Elise! The last point could just mean that he got hurt from all of his experiences, which he has. It means more than that, I'm guessing, but it still could be that.

"But if he does have to die i hope its from some sort of fatal injury, not so that he suffers but so that he can tell people how much they mean to him and how much they've helped him survive and all soppy stuffs like that." Oh no just imagine Dan Rad doing that scene I don't think Harry will die, but I think maybe one of his friends will, or at least someone extremely important; not necessarily Voldie.

well if voldie doesn't die that wont make much sence because the profecy says one of them must die for the other to live (sorry I couldn't find the actuall quote) and J.K. I thought wasn't doing a sequil.

I just found out that the US edition is going to be 784 pages long. I'm not sure about the other editions, though. This isn't really about the plot, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Either Voldie or Harry are going to die...that much is pretty obvious I think.
I think J.K may kill of Harry for the shock factor, but then again, she might kill Voldie for the happy ending.
I don't know. Someone, who is important will die I reakon, otherwise it will be a little dissappointing.
It's weird to think that it's the last book, and also a little depressing. Ah well, not much we can do about it, is there?
