...... I am scared of Godrics Hollow....
When I read DH, the scene in Godrics Hollow, with the graveyard and snake coming from the head and all that stuff just creeped me out so much that I now think James and Lily were f'ed thinking that Godrics Hollow was a nice place to live.
I dont know about pre-carked-it-parents-time, but when harry and 'moine went there, it just seemed so.... cold (not brrrr cold, but spine tingling cold).
Well.... glad I got that off my chest.

I always thought of it as a warm place,.
As in a cute little snow covered village with the statue of Harry and his Family and all the wishes of luck from Harry's supporters near the house.
The whole Bathilda Bagshot snakey thing didn't really do much to my perception of it.

That statue was odd to me..... I would feel odd to see a statue of me.....

I think it's proabably because you are imagining the statue being of you, imagine being Harry and all he had been through. How much of a Hero he was to nearly all wizarding folk.
It was just like the War Memorial. A statue to celebrate the fact that Harry's parents died protecting him; and Harry himself caused the most feared wizards downfall. Personally i would have felt honoured that someone would make a statue of me. haha.
Thats how i think about it anyways... but everyones open to their opinions and so on.

Oh yes, its very honourable. But I dont think Harry ever got his head around his 'fame'. The statue was a such a huge honour to have to you never knew about. Its just.... weird.
But the statue is the minor. The place seemed creepy. Our of all the books, I think this scene is the one I imagined most. I had the whole Godrics Hollow in my head. But the freakishness is less an opinion of mine, but rather proof of how powerful the imagination can be.

Given that most statues are post-humous (tho what chick peas have to do with anything I don't know but love 'em all the same!) it would always be a little freaky to witness one of yourself whilst still inhaling the heavily polluted air of this earth...
