1984 is probably the scariest book I've ever read. Just because sometimes I think that society could end up like that. I recommend everyone read it.
A Clockwork Orange is a brilliant book too, but they missed the last chapter out of the film and its really important to the story as a whole! I hate it when they do that

I absolutely hated the movie Narnia. There was some nice cinematography but as a whole it was really boring and forgettable.
1984 is a bit creepy... I haven't read it in a while. But my first encounter with it was during an english assessment, with the passage that included the lines: Here comes a candle to light you to bed. Here comes a chopper to chop off your head. And I just knew I had to get my hands on that book ^^
Tara - The Da Vinci Code movie was a waste of time =)

I started reading 1984 but it was on inter-library loan and I was really busy at school, so me needed to return it. I might read it early next year.

1984 was just about the shittiest piece of shitty shit I've ever been subjected to read. Me and Timmie were gagging while doing the summer reading work we were assigned to do for it. =] But maybe then again this summer I found it hard to tolerate anything... Anyway! I don't like 1 and 2 of the movies. They bore the shit out of me - they did back when I saw them in theatres and still now, I flip the channel as quickly as poss. if I see one of those two on TV. Third was grand improvement and fourth is defo watchable for me (PATTINSON?!). Lord of the Rings movies were better than the books for me. Only 'cause I couldn't get through the books though, past the firstt. But that was a couple years ago so maybe my patience has been nurtured into something longer than a toenail?

I must say that although I do like all of the films, I just couldn't bring myself to like CoS as much as the rest - maybe because thats my least favourite book? I don't know. I just couldn't like it as much as the rest...

I've never really cared for the films. I love the actors they got to play the roles of the characters from the book but sometimes I think they screw up portraying them. I might be a little too biased though because I have my own little movies going on in my head while I read the books. The first two had this little kiddish tendency to them, and that's because of Chris. The third one was such a dramatic leap and the movie left out so much that it didn't make sense. It's my favorite book and I was so dissappointed. The fourth one added some weird shit, and then left out little tid bits. Again I spent a lot of time explaining these movies to other people. But the fourth movie, I have to admit, it has a more catchy feeling to it. It Harry Potter had started out with that style the series might be a hell of a lot better. Also I was thinking about it, and a lot of the book talks you through Harry's thoughts and feelings, and that's a little more difficult to portray in a movie. As for a movie that's better than the book, 'A Beautiful Mind' and my sister says 'Shiloh' 1984 by George Orwell? I haven't read that one yet and I want to. I've read his book Animal Farm and a book that everyone compares 1984 to, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. Both of those books are amazing. Especially Brave New World.

Brave New World? *Dies* I hated that. Maybe because we had to study it which took the fun out of it =P And all this dystopia stuff... c'mon, we're not that bad!

We had to study it as well. At first I was a little disgusted. It all seemed a little too unrealistic. But the more I got into it the more I started to understand what Huxley was trying to say. And the more I see it in our world today. There are bits and pieces of it floating around everywhere and I find that kind of scary. You think you're prepared for it but with all these new "discoveries" and "methods" you never know.

I love all the HP movies but I think my least favorite is 2. My favorite is the first one. I think it's because it was all so new when it came out. You knew how the story went, but you weren't really sure how they would do it on screen.

The 4th movie really disapointed me. The book was great, but they sabatoshed the movie. I was really mad after seeing it.

In all honesty I never watch the HP movies. I have them, but never watch them. I guess they just don't live up to expectations of the books really. Everytime I attempt to watch either of the first two I come over all giggly due to the boy's voices The third was quite good, though they missed out too much for my liking and I didnt really relate to the characters. I loved the fourth one, much mroe watchable and the characters evolved more in my opinion. Emma did my head in, but when does she never?!?

I dunno. Probably the 2nd one. The 2nd one because, as most people, it's my least favorite book. And because, I think it was done too much like an extension of the 1st. I mean, it was good and all but I think if the director had made it differently I would've like it more. Like if the got Curon(sp?) to direct the 2nd film. That would've been interesting!
Maybe the 3rd though because it got really boring towards the middle. Probably because of all the time-turner stuff as someone else said so it couldn't really be helped. I think it also had something to do with Dan, Emma, and Rupert though. This was the third film so they probably thought that they way they were acting -coughmostlyDancough- should be done differently so they tried to take it more seriously and it turned out bad. -shrug-
Anyway! I loved 1984! Had to read it over the summer for English so I was determined to hate it but I ended up owning a copy! =D
