So Channel 9 has been showing all the movies lately and I realised how much I dont like number three. Its one of my favourite books but my least favourite movies. The director did a horrible job and changed the sets WAY to much and the acting was over-baked. Then they also changed the charactors personalities all of a sudden (well with some of them) then add people who weren't even in the book, like the guy who just says bad things, like about the grim and about catching sirius. No one says these things, most teenages (and adults) wont say 'It's like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands' ok! We understand! Sirius is hard to catch! I just really dont like this movie....

Actually I really liked #3 and 4 the most. I think the first two aren't that good. They're not my favorite out of the 4.

I liked the 1st and 4th the best. 3rd was the worst. Maybe because of the whole time turner thing; it made it seem tediously repetitive. That's not really the director's fault though =P But Dan's delivery of "He was their friend!" really cinched it for me.

I don't know.
I just saw the second one, because it was on a channel my brother found. I didn't get to watch the whole thing, because he wanted to watch a different show more, but during commercial breaks, and when his show ended, I watched it.
I didn't like the second as much as the fourth, and I don't really remember the other ones.

I liked the first and second movies. The third was okay, but the fourth was just 'meh' for me. It was disappointing when compared to the book, but I guess as a movie, it was okay.

I hated the second film, but then I didn't like the second book, there's giant spiders in it, which I don't want to think about or see and I just think its a bit....long. Lockhart was ok and they did a good job with the basilisk and stuff I just didn't like it, it's boring, nothing happens really. I mean in the first one, Harry's findings out all about hogwarts and in the third he finds out about sirius and then from the 4th one onwards things with voldie really start to kick off, the second one is just a nonentitiy really.

I didn't really like the 4th film. It was too different from the book in my view... but people who hadn't read the books thought it was really good so I guess as a film it was good. The 3rd film was good although there was somethings that annoyed me, dunno why but Peeves not being in any of the movies is a slight disappointment!

Yeah, I would have really liked to see Peeves, but it was probably not worth it, for the producers.
I agree that the fourth movie was good as a movie, but it was kind of disappointing to me that a lot of things were taken out of it.

Yer, thats like the Da Vinci Code, dont read the book if you want to watch to movie. I am not happy about peeves not being in the movies as well, they put in Nick, we not peeves?

I don't see how the Da Vinci Code was that diff from the book o_0 People say the ending changed, but it really didn't. Maybe the way it played out changed slightly but it was ultimately the same conclusion =P I didn't actually notice that Peeves was missing!

Well I think that the book tries to tell people the facts where as the movie tries to force imformation towards the viewer then contradict it with what something else that has been said. For example, they made robert look as if he didn't believe the facts and he fought agaist everything that was said. I just think the movie was a poor version of a book, but if there was no such thing as the book then it was pritty good!

I loved them all, but I think they should have made the 3ed/4th ones longer. It would have helped explain things. I always have to explain why things are happening to my husband. (he dislikes reading anything, but he loves the movies)
Can you name one movie, that was based on a book, that was better than the book version? I cant think of any.
Memoirs of a Geisha - good move, read the book left out tons of info. The Chronicles of Narnia - I personally hated the movie compared to the book. Gone with the Wind - very long movie and a very long book, Still left out loads of what I thought was important info. And don't get me started on the 2ed Movie, Yes they made a 2. SO does not follow the book. Lord of the Rings - dont even get me started on that movie.

I don't really dislike any of the Potter films, though if I had to pick I'd say the second as I don't have as much love for it as the rest! Plus, scary ass spiders and a dinosauresque beastie - no ta!
I actually much preferred the LotR films to the books. Don't get me wrong, the books are good and there are some really nice bits that they missed, but I really found the trilogy far too heavy going, there's only so much description of rocky landscape I can find appealing.

Well I have seen Memoirs of a Gaisha, and now I really want to read the book, I also want to read 1984 (i think thats the date?) which they based Big Brother around and also War of the World, which is extremely small?
