Yeah, saw last night. **Uh, minor spoilers?**And I'm devastated=) It was fucking horrible, at least by my standardsss. It dragged on in the early middle portions, completely skimmed through the more interesting aspects of OotP (yeah, I know it's a fucking movie and "they can't do everything" blah de fucking blah, but they definitely captured the essense of the book 100 times better in PoA and GoF), rushed/underthought the Ministry of Magic fight scene and ughhhh. I understand that OotP was an 800+ page book but I just felt this director and the fucking cast did it so little justice, perhaps making less than .10% of the material shine. I just wasn't into it. =/ While Dan's acting did well enough, I suppose, Rupert and Emma left me feeling painfully empty inside, and I swear it wasn't because of the blatant, ugly, and frustrating flirtations that were awkwardly maneuvered to be into the movie in areas where it was completely unwarranted. Emma was at an all-time low, funny, 'cause I thought she was decent in GoF but now she's back to her old fucking cue card ways, I suppose: "*robot voice to Ron* You. Have. The. Emotional. Range. Of. Teaspoon. *robotic pause between all three* ... *robotic impliment of forced laughter from Rupert followed by robotic guffawing by Emma for an awkward, ill-concieved 30 second close up* ...WHAT THE FUCK? Bah. Nothing was done justice. Everything was painfully rushed, as if the production of this film started too soon into/after GoF for anything to come out right. I was into the first 10-15 minutes of the movie which did bring a little humor and depth to the dudley &&& harry vs. stray dementors bit but it was fucking downhill from there. For people who didn't read the books, a la david (my man), they were completely confused and overwhelmed (ironic, because I was so far underwhelmed) and left the movie asking the questions that the movie could have done more to answer. David gave me the third fucking degree about why Harry gave away the prophecy and why Voldemort didn't just kill him then, and why this, why that - normal questions for a non-reader yes, but if the movie hadn't so glazed and twirled and cut and spit on the ideals and explanations made perfectly clear in OotP - it would have made the inquiries easier to answer. The worst bit of it is that it seems I'm the only one who feels so utterly disappointed. Entertainment Weekly, a review publication I worship, gave it a pleasant B+. The fans in the commentary section of the site's review area worshipped the film in hordes, all saying it deserved at least, well, at the very least, a fucking A+ ( ). Basically, OotP is my favorite book of the series and the movie did nothing strengthen the love between us. =] But it's there. For the sanctity of the page. Not the rushed, stunted glare of the movie screen. FUCK YOU, DAVID YATES... and I would so moon him if we ever crossed pathsss. Maybe that would give inspiration to add some sex appeal and genuine drama and feeling to his films, the bitchass fool. Ah I'm not being completely fair. Umbridge's performance was quite fabulous. At least someone understood their fucking script. Anyways, all for now bitches. Muahzzz <3

Ohohoh... I'll admit with whole heart - Snape was yummy (that baritone "obviously" made me have to uncross and recross my legs). And younger Snape can give me a call anytime he wants, I'd let him bang it out. XD

Not reading the full blurb as not seen yet, but good news on the Snape front!!! Is there a fair bit of Sev? What about Lucius?? I saw a clip of him in the hall of prophecies and it was raaaah! Is young Snape hot then?? I feel like I need to be prepared! Oh how I pity those who I'm going to the cinema with who is going to have to put up with a rabid, babbling, neurotic fangirlism fest...

As I'll tryyy not to spoil anything for you but if you're super paranoid don't read this! Oh there's not nearly enough Snape for our fill but the snippets he was in /completely/ stole the screen. =] The young Snape bit wasn't what I expected at all - so fast and blurry and missing bits and guh, I really wish they had gone into that whole chapter and brought it to life instead of just flying through a 3 second bubble of a 1/4 of the memory (but I saw enough to know that I *sweat* young Snape)... So yeah, that was one of my biggest issues - lack of Seversex =/ Lucius and that hotass mane of his made their biggest appearence towards the end with the prophecies, but again - ugh, I don't want to spoil anything - but the tastes we got of him just weren't enough! I barely had enough time to run up and lick the screen before *poof* credits?! x_O bitchesss

I felt so-so about the movie. One fact that bothered me was that it was the longest book, by far, and the shortest movie yet... OotP is my favorite book, and the movie didn't do it justice. It probably didn't help that I had just re-read the book before the movie came out, so I noticed every slightest change, which was a lot. I agree with Hogwarts that the scene from Snapes memory didn't last nearly long enough, that irked me. It was like a 5 second clip that was constantly changing camera angles and I wished they just would have left it the way it was in the book. Even the little things they changed bothered me. They things they changed that didn't need to be changed. Like Harry and his guard flying so low to the ground, Harry not reading the slip that said the address from Grimauld Place, and Mad-Eye not using the light puter-outer when they entered headquarters. One part I was very upset they didn't put in was St. Mungo's. I wish they had shown that at all. But I was really happy that they put in Fred and George's grand finale at Hogwarts with the fireworks and such.

But I was really happy that they put in Fred and George's grand finale at Hogwarts with the fireworks and such. I felt the same way about all of that! Plus why the hell didn't the statues come alive in the Ministry and protect Harry? And I hated how short the film way and how to make it shorter they made the DA sessions overlap and fade and stuff. It made the film look cheap! Plus the newspaper headlines were YUCKY! Romoine relationship wasn't ment to be this strong! Plus they made it so Cho told Umbridge about the DA, not her friend! That really annoyed me! Though I did love the fight at the end! I found the whole Black-deatheater-smoky-effect Vs the White-OotP-Smoky-Effect really cool! They done well there! And although it wasn't in the book, it was still cool. Though the last 20 mins or more was way too short! That should have gone on for a lot longer, seeing that it was one of the most important parts in any of the books thus far! But what the fuck is wrong with Dudley's voice? I might be getting the DVD of it in the next few days, so I shall be complaining a lot more.

*spoilers ish*
They did not do the book ANY justice at all. I absolutly HATED it. The Ministry was pretty good but, Good God! They skipped so much. I mean really, you Can't Skimp out on the bit about snapes child hood. A lot of the little things bothered me too They Completley exadgerated the Ron/Hermione ship. Something that really bothered me was Sirius' head in the flames, completely different from what they did last time. Plus Harry never got the two way mirror thing from Sirius. and Harry and Dumbldores convosation at the end was wayy to short, he didnt explain anything to harry.
I dont think it helped me rereading ootp before i went. =\

*spoilers* Oh yeah, and I love how the "red veil," one of the most prominent symbols in OotP, wasn't even in the fucking film. Sirius literally disappeared into thin air.

Oh, and... is it just me or has Emma now converted Hermione into a fucking blonde? Those highlights are way too intense to coincide with JK's character, you fucking whore. =)

*spoilers* Oh yeah, and I love how the "red veil," one of the most prominent symbols in OotP, wasn't even in the fucking film. Sirius literally disappeared into thin air. I thought it was a black, tattered veil in the books. I'm probably wrong. ;D Anywayyyy. I really liked it. I completely get where you're all coming from with the inaccuracies and how the big important scenes were cut drastically but I still really, really loved it. I thought Luna was just. Perfect. OMG I actually love her. When she was stood outside with no shoes and socks on playing with the thestrals and scrunching her feet up I just wanted to give her a massive hug, I thought she was loveable and brilliant. Arg the Hermione eyebrow thing was still present but notably, not quite as much as previous films. Someones had to have said "Emma, we do not show emotions through our eyebrows!" I thought Ron was ace though! He had that whole sort of mono-syllabic teenager voice thing going on that made him the most genuine and down to earth out of the lot of them as fucking usual, and even Harry didn't make me cringe. There were a few niggles such as Cho being the grass etc... and the statues not coming to life in the Ministry was a big disappointment for me. AND, them not going into all the crazy rooms in the department of mysteries. Lucius was incredible, just to die for. I'm not sure there's anyone who IS their character more than him... and I loved Helena Bonham Carter too. I thought she was excellent which was a relief as I was a bit worried about that one. When Sirius went through the veil too, and all the diegetic sound went off and Harry was just sort of silently yelling while Lupin held him back, I thought was incredibly poignant. AND UMBRIDGE. Was perfect. Lol, I love/hated her. So... there were plenty of things that annoyed me about it, loads of omissions and stuff which kind of upset me, but the things I loved about it way over-rided all that. My fave thus far. <3 And hello everyone.

What can I say... I knew going in to the movie that they would cut a lot out because of how long and in depth the book went. I actually enjoyed the movie although I was disappointed about ALL of the things they cut out! (Including my favorite part of the book when Ron realizes there are brains in a tank in the DOM.) I do have to agree that the character of Prof. Umbridge was EXACTLY how I pictured her in my mind and her personality was just that sweet, manipulative bitchiness that you just want to hate from the moment you see her. I will post more later as I have come to a small realization in my head that I just looked up on the Lexicon. I have been wondering if there is a possibility of Harry being one of the Horcruxes by accident? Oh well, more on my thought about that later.
