Hmm, just a blurb from Helena Bonham Carter's EW interview that says a little more for the choppy-ness of the fight scene: " There were bits of footage of you in the coming attractions and in TV previews that showed you dueling with Gary Oldman's Sirius, and also taunting Harry. But those seem to be missing in the final cut of the movie. What happened?I had a duel with Sirius, during which he makes a strategic mistake. I learned for three weeks how to wand-fight. And I was really good with all my spells! It was really complicated stuff. And then they cut the fight! They just cut it. I can't believe they cut the fight. All that wand training for nothing. And a wand blister. I told the [producers and director], ''You've got to put that in the DVD extras.'' I did learn to do my spells. And it's a good fight, too. I stuck my tongue out at the end. Actually, I asked director David Yates about that. He says the DVD will have about six cut scenes. But your fight bits won't be one of them, because they were woven into a longer scene that is in the final movie. I think you're out of luck unless they reissue the whole movie expanded down the line.Did they leave in the thing with me holding my nose when I apparated?" "...because they were woven into a longer scene that is in the final movie."
Does that mean the final battle will take place in part in the MoM? o.o

*SPOILER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT!!*
okk i saw it Wednesday when it first came out. I was expecting sooo much more but i pretty much agree with what Hogwarts had to say about it. I was expecting so much more...and what happened to Snape's memory? It wouldve been better thru a pensieve and more of young Snape but...ugh!! And i was sitting there ready to shamelessly cry my eyes out when Sirius dies, but instead i was just confused? like wtf? he was just standing there talking to harry and then he sorta steps backwards and *poof*...not what i expected at all. I feel like the stupid director should be severly hexed and the movie should have a do-over and filmed properly with more Grimmauld Place and an actual PLOT!! oh and where was Quidditch?? they totally leftthat out of the movie...
as for charactersk, i think Rupert did well, Emma was not so convincing, and i think Dan could've been a bit more bitchier considering wat he was going through. Snape was played well and same for Umbridge. Luna was great except i dont remember much of her... but mehh the movie was not satisfying.... =[

I just got back, and...uh...HATE IT??? If Sorcerer's Stone was a fraction of OOTP, why is the movie so much longer? It was IMMENSLY rushed. They left out so much, and yes those parts arent very important, but they pushed the book along. The movie was very choppy and I'm glad I read the book because if I hadnt, I would be so effing confused! SIRIUS!! Ughh!!! MY favourite character and they did him no justice. First of all, I dont like the overall look of him, but whatever.. ive gotten over that. I think they should have emphasized the bond between him and harry more. and the fact that it was harrys mistake to come to the ministry. and kreacher. why put him in the movie if you dont show his main significance??? Wasnt he the one to tell harry that voldy had got sirius??? AND HIS DEATH was not as dramatic as i wanted it to be!! ok, i might be a bit biased as that was intense for me, but still! and the dep of mysteries was just wrong. ok, i understand why they didnt show the brain room, etc. but they should have atleast shows how creepy the place was. and where sirius died, chamber of death or something, i expected it to be much bigger. and wtf, its a goddamned veil, not some jelly stuff. One thing i did enjoy was Bellatrix. i loved how her character was portrayed. and snape is so fit!! in that tight robe thing. <3333 Hogwarts- Bella vs in the final movie? Yeah, the fight was waay short. Whatever. I'm not impressed. Snapes memory = too short. Oh oh, and the fact that harry kept getting dreams about a "corridor" was not flattered as much as it should have been.....

Over night I made a conclusion. As a movie! I loved it. I think it was great! My parents watched it as well and they understood it, which was a bonus. As a HP movie based on the books, not as good as it should be. Its like the Director has read the script, watched the first movies, but not read the books! But, after saying that, I still think it was a brilliant movie. IMDb has even given it a rating of 8.1! Not bad I say! I just wish the made an extended version for the DVD, but WB dont usually do that

and kreacher. why put him in the movie if you dont show his main significance??? Wasnt he the one to tell harry that voldy had got sirius??? Good fucking point. I didn't get that either... The more I think about it the more pissed I get. I was skimming through OotP yesterday and saw no traces of how the shitfaced movie portrayed anything, really. Fred and George's escape scene was good, per se, but was so much more defined and exaggerated on page (where were the dung bombs and the fabulous "Give her hell for us, Peeves?"). You're right Ghost, the relationship between Sirius and Harry was a poor ATTEMPT at recreating the (almost gay XD) affection between them in the book. They hugged twice in the film, I suppose that's Yates' way of developing a clear and poignant cinematic bond. I think Yates and the producers should have concentrated less on making Ron face off with Grawp for Hermione's sake (was that even in the book? ) and more on making the movie not as chopped-up and thoroughly fucked. There was no flow, no "cool" in it at all. I'm not even being critical for the sake of being critical - I'll admit that I really did enjoy PoA and GoF on film minus the fucking twats who play the trio - they were so much more fun than the first two. But now... I dunno... I might prefer those cookie-cutter first two to the trainwreck that's out on screen now...

Take out Kreacher, Ron trying to be brave and some of Harry chewing Cho's face off and use that time to show the Bellatrix/Sirius fight......
I dont think the audience understood Harry's loss or the prophecy if they havent read the book :/

This just struck me.
You know in the book when they are cleaning out Grimmauld Place? And they find an un-openable locket? Well, if that was Slytherin's and the Horcrux, then shouldn't they have shown that in the movie??

*spoilers* I've got to say that I really enjoyed it! Far more than the other movies. I understand that they left out a lot of things, but they got in everything that they needed to FOR A MOVIE. The book is my favourite in the series (close with HBP) and, even though I enjoyed the book more (books are always better), I loved the movie. Emma was... ehm... well she was alright. Rupert was great, and Dan (whom I have learnt not to expect much from) did a really good job in my opinion! I loved that final fight scene in the ministry - fantastic! Though it did annoy me how Dan sort of cowered behind a wall. And I can't say much about that veil. Not at all what I was expecting - was Sirius hit with the Avada Kedavra in the movie? If he was, wouln't he have died instantly and not drifted through the veil, fluttering his eyes? I know in the book it was stupefy, but I've forgotten what it was in the movie. I really did love the ministry for magic, Umbridge was fantastic - no quidditch but they had enough to get through with (though I would have liked to see Ron on a broomstick )... ABOUT THE KREACHER THING - They wanted to cut him but one of my friends said that JK told them 'I'd put him in if I were you,' or something like that. D'you know that they had to do 30 takes of the kissing scene with Harry and Cho? HAHAHAHA... But yeah I really enjoyed it.

I logged into here for the first time in ages just to comment on this crap movie. I was expecting so much more...When the movie ended I was thinking about boycotting the next movie (also directed by Yates *tear*). I mean, I had so many things to pick on. The Order didn't seem very secret-y enough, Kreacher (Acara laughs how I used to think it was pronounced 'Kre-cher'...which was about a month ago lmao.) seemed extremely pointless and forced, Dumbledore was seemed extremely weak in this movie (not weak physically, because that final battle was awesome), Tonks had one line and it seemed to me that she loves Harry since she would only become a klutz when she looked at him, Ron had that pout like he did in the first film and had only two lines, Hermione's tone at the end of each sentence annoyed the heck out of me, Cho's voice was annoying as well, Luna was exactly like her character in the book so she was okay. It seemed there was a total lack of character development for all characters except Harry. The music wasn't bad. The songs with the original theme was ok, but I swear there was one tune played by a single saxophone that consisted of 5 notes repeated over and over (at the credits, if anyone remembers). And the battle scene? Waaayyyy too short. Oh my gawr, when Dumbledore and Voldy were duelling and Dumbledore had that water orb thingy conjured between his hands, I was thinking "DRAGONBALL Z!!!" the entire time. =) And the way the group entered the Department of Mysteries...They just took the elevator and that's all? I thought there needed to be an emphasis on how they had to struggle to get there...All they did in this movie was run away from Death Eaters and then be saved by the Order. And EVERYTHING WAS SO...SUGGESTIVE. There was one scene where in Occulumency lessons with Snape, Harry has a constipated face and is all sweaty and says "Can't we take a break? We've been at it for HOURS!" and I started bursting out sniggering. I blame you guys for destroying my innocence -_____________- And I imagined a dark brown veil.
