*spoilers, but I think the whole thread as them* I didn't really like the movie. I thought it was okay, but not great, yet I went to see it twice, though it wasn't because of the movie. The first time, I thought it was too dark, and did the second time, too, but got more used to it.
I loved Luna and Umbridge. In my opinion, they were really good characters.
Was Dumbledore wearing glasses at the beginning? I realized during the fight scene that he wasn't, and didn't remember if he had been before, or if that was just because he was fighting, and they fell off or something.
I liked how Ginny was there when Harry was going to have an intimate moment with Cho. I thought that was well done.
I didn't really have any emotion during it, when I was supposed to. I didn't feel sad when Sirius died. I didn't feel anything during the kiss. I didn't think the different camera shots were really necessary for the kiss, either. I didn't like the tilt up during it. That really bothered me.
I don't really have anything else to add right now. I was pretty disappointed, but I can't think of anything to add that hasn't already been said, yet.

And EVERYTHING WAS SO...SUGGESTIVE. There was one scene where in Occulumency lessons with Snape, Harry has a constipated face and is all sweaty and says "Can't we take a break? We've been at it for HOURS!" and I started bursting out sniggering. I blame you guys for destroying my innocence -_____________- Haaa, I love you. <3 And you're right for pointing out the lack of character development on screen - another thorn up my ass. =] Yates is going down.

One thing I HATE about the last three movies is the Dumbledore! He is ment to be an old guy who doesn't run and jump around and crap! He does in these movies! The first dumbledore was better, he looked and acted wise and he was respectable! This one looks like an angry old fart!
!!!!! GRRRR

^Ehhh....
The thing that irks me about him is that he does everything too fast. Dumbledore is supposed to be "grand." Walking slow and cool like he doesnt give a damn.

Finally seen OotP today - I love how I'm off ill from work so take the opportunity to sneak down to Warners and watch Potter.
Full blah later but what I shall say now is I'm usually the person justifying that they have to leave bits out, etc, etc, but this movie just felt so bland. First two were textbook hollywood movies but it worked as they had that slick producded spark, third was beautifully arty and dark, GoF just worked well as a movie because of all the action, something was always happening - this, this.... hmmm.
I didn't *hate* it, just indifferent really. Didn't really gel together as a movie, if I hadn't read the books it'd make no sense, as other people have said the emotions didn't carry onto screen. To me OotP is all about the emotional aspects as to be fair not that much happens, at least in a dramatic sense, it is a very hard book to translate to screen for that very fact. I'm prob also slightly marred by the fact OotP is one of my least faves, but still, David Yates should go back to directing those pilates DVDs....

I agree with Stacey; I liked it. But it probably helps that I haven't read OotP in a long time and forgot what had happened. So yeah... lol. I thought Umbridge was great. What everybody else has said about her, I agree with. I also agree that they left out a lot and changed a lot, especially didn't like the MoM fight scene in the end. Bellatrix did definitely say "Avada Kedavra" when Sirius 'dies', which makes it seem like he's really dead. But I haven't read the 7th book yet, and I asked my brother if Sirius comes back, and he says "maybe".... hmm.

I left the movie feeling okay with it, mostly because I always hate how the other directors added shit that wasn't in the books, and this one at least didn't change too much (except for how Umbridge found out about the DA through Cho). But as soon as I had a chance to think, it was: damn, this was way too short. They didn't include this, or that, or that, or this, or that, etc etc. Jesus I wish they would make extended versions like the people who did The Lord of the Rings did.

But I haven't read the 7th book yet. Jen!!!! I know! I will... soon. lol. Oh yeah, and I pictured a black veil. But I liked how they made it see-through in the movie. It makes it more mysterious, you know, because if you can see the other side, then where the heck did Sirius disappear to?? lol.

Lol, I thought it was terrible. By far my worst actually. I saw it in both regular and 3D, neither good. But i dont like any of the movies really. Mainly, I watch just to see, but I actually don't really care how they turn out... Books are always better! xD
