I think a lot of close-minded and shallow people thought that Snape was evil. I mean, sure, he killed Dumbledore and is not the best person to Harry, but come on, DUMBLDORE?? The "ultimate" wizard cant tell if Snape's doublecrossing him?
On one forum I went to, there were the "SNAP ISH EBBILLL!!111!!" people and were like, "I wonder how Snapes gonna die" "Harry should kill him" "I'm a fucking idiot" and it totally pissed me off.

Well I don't have time to read all this now but I just thought I'd say that I sobbed and sobbed when Dobby died. Not sure why; I guess it was well written. Same with the death of Fred and Lupin and Tonks. They can't die!!!! NO!!!!
I'm refusing to accept it.
Also, I sort of suspected that Snape was in love with Lily, after the 5th book, but I NEVER would have guessed that they were besties. But I loved it. How he wanted to save her, protect her, even after she was married to James, and still protected Harry because he was her son. Beautiful.

I can barely grieve from Remus and Tonks because JK so underwrote their deaths. One minute they were there, the next they were alongside Fred on a death table. But maybe that was her intent - to convey how plain and uncelebrated beloved people may die in war. I felt like, 2 seconds of " ," then I went on reading and didn't think about them again 'til mention of Teddy Lupin in the epilogue. It was so clean and quick. With a bottom page paragraph JK finished off the maraudersss and ... yeah. Oh - we haven't mentioned yet I don't think... Pettigrew's death? Was kinda poetic really, strangling oneself.

Entertainment Weekly via its webbie - ew.com - is doing some excellent Harry Potter coverage this week - so catch it before they update with random celebrity shit or the likes. Interview with Dan Rad about his opinion of DH, coverage of all books, "questions answered" section... etc. =]

The sorting hat of course.
"Only a true Gryffindor could have pulled the sword of that hat, Harry."
Well yeah, one of those courageous Gryffindor moments for Neville.

Finished the book last night - got it yesterday morning when i got back from holiday. Can't believe that Lupin/Tonks/Fred died . Now their kid isnt going to have any parents. Thought the whole Snape being in love with Lily was a good.. and I loved the whole Mrs Weasley - Not My Daughter You Bitch! Kind of reminded me of a film Aliens. Andd I was like when i saw the Forest of Dean i was like i live therrrreee! Then got over it and carried on reading lol.

If Harry's Deathly Hallows Invisibilty Cloak is supposedly perfect, then how come Mad-Eye could see him under it in GoF?

Or maybe the Homenum Revelio thing that Dumblodore and any non-verbal spellcaster person can do.

I definately agree about the Lily's eyes thing. Like while Harry looked so much like James, which should be enough of a reason for Snape to loathe him, maybe Snape would catch a glimpse of Lily when he looked straight into his eyes. As if, as he died, he could see Lily there next to him, not her son. Aww... welling up just thinking about it. Say hello to the newest S/L shipper... forget James!
Oof. The epilogue was definately a badly-written 6th grader's fanfiction, that somehow got mixed up in the printing of JK's fabulous ending to a fabulous series. I swear to god. What is sort of mental is ages ago I read this fic that started out good but got terrible very quickly, yet I read it anyways. In it, Ron went and knocked Hermione up at school, but she kept the kid a fucking secret from him and it lived at the Burrow but somehow he didn't know.. anyways the point of this is that she named their kid Rose. Wierd.
SO GLAD that she's writing an encyclopaedia. I'm geeking out here for the first time in ages (I might even look up some art or read a fic.. oh my god!) so in this mood I can't wait to find out every bloody detail on every character. *SQUEE!*
In another interview she explained how he's an anti-hero. Which is even better than a hero, which is obvious, if you've ever read a book such as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next.. so I'm okay with it.

More! Give me more!!! So good, Hogwarts. Your prose is just so.. so.. clear. It is strong and poignant and youareamazing. The diction captures Hermione's jaded musings with such.. I don't even know how to describe it. I attend another installment with little patience.
